Newcrest Mining Limited (ASX:NCM) has released its quarterly report for
the three months ended March 31, 2022. Highlights include gold production of
480koz, and copper production of 31kt. The company’s CEO, Sandeep Biswas, said:
"Newcrest
delivered an excellent operational and safety performance during the quarter,
building momentum for a strong finish to the financial year and positioning us
well to meet our updated Group FY22 guidance, which reflects the addition of
Brucejack and our operating and financial performance to date. With the Cadia
SAG mill motor operating at full capacity and an improved performance at Lihir,
gold and copper production increased for the third consecutive quarter, driving
the continued decline in our All-In Sustaining Cost. It was also very pleasing
to see further reductions in our injury rates and progress made against our
sustainability commitments."
Alamos Gold Inc. (NYSE:AGI) has reported its financial results for the quarter
ended March 31, 2022. In the quarter the company produced 98,900 ounces of gold
and recorded revenues of $184.5 million. The company’s President and CEO, John
A. McCluskey, commented:
“Our
first quarter production and costs were in line with guidance and with stronger
results expected through the year, we remain well positioned to achieve our
annual guidance. La Yaqui Grande remains on track for initial production in the
third quarter and is expected to drive our production higher and costs
significantly lower in the second half of the year.”
Equinox Gold Corp. (NYSEAmerican:EQX) has announced positive drill results from 2021
exploration drilling in the 70-km-long greenstone belt in Bahia State, Brazil,
the location of its Fazenda and Santa Luz gold mines. Scott Heffernan, EVP
Exploration for the company, explained:
"The
2021 exploration program in the Bahia Belt has led to the discovery of
significant gold mineralization at multiple targets within haulage distance to
our existing mines. Drilling at the Canto 2 target adjacent to our Fazenda Mine
was particularly important, intersecting very high grades and clearly
highlighting the potential for both open pit and underground resource growth
and mine life extension at Fazenda. Equinox Gold also secured exploration
permits covering an additional 323 square km, bringing the total land package
in the Bahia Belt to nearly 1,300 square km covering the majority of this
highly prospective but underexplored greenstone belt.”
Coeur Mining, Inc. (NYSE:CDE) has shared an update on the exploration programs
at its Silvertip, Kensington and Palmarejo mines, and has reported plans to
invest roughly $40 million in exploration this year, including capitalized
infill and resource expansion drilling. Mitchell J. Krebs, President and CEO of
the company, said:
"Recent
assays from the newly discovered Camp Creek West zone of Silvertip are among
the best results ever returned at the property and underscore the potential of
what we believe is a truly world-class deposit. In addition to the impressive
grade and thickness of the Camp Creek West discovery, its location across a
fault zone not previously known to contain ore-grade material has the potential
to significantly expand the extent of this deposit.”
