Barrick Gold Corporation (NYSE:GOLD) has reported preliminary third quarter sales of 1.25 million ounces of gold and 116 million pounds of copper, as well as preliminary third quarter production of 1.16 million ounces of gold and 103 million pounds of copper. Strong performances from mining at Carlin and Pueblo Viejo made for a three percent increase in gold production for the quarter as compared to Q2 this year. Similarly, gold sales were “slightly higher” than the second quarter. This is all despite the fact that there was no third quarter production at Porgera in Papua New Guinea which, according to the press release, “was placed on care and maintenance on April 25, 2020.”

 

Alcoa Corporation (NYSE:AA) has reported its third quarter 2020 results. Highlights include the generation of $158 million in cash from its operations – with an $84 million free cash flow, the setting of a year-to-date production record for Alcoa-operated bauxite mines and a record rate (metric tons per day) for quarterly production of the Alumina. Alcoa President and CEO Roy Harvey, said:

 

"We are doing far more than simply maintaining stability – we are setting production records, driving productivity, reducing costs, and improving our balance sheet. All of this is aligned with our strategic priorities and is only possible because of the dedication of our people and the work to protect safety and health during these unprecedented times.”

 

White Gold Corp. (TSXV:WGO) has revealed results from its recently-completed diamond drilling program on the Ryan’s Surprise target which encountered multiple high-grade mineralized zones expanding gold mineralization. The program consisted of six drill holes totalling 1,632.5m, all of which encountered multiple gold intercepts. White Gold Corp. CEO, David D’Onofrio, commented:

 

“We are very pleased to have encountered additional high-grade mineralization at the Ryan’s Surprise in new zones and extensions to previously encountered mineralization in multiple directions. These results and the close proximity to our established resources provides further evidence of the growth potential of these projects. We are also further encouraged by the prospectivity of the other targets in this area which share geological and other characteristics with this recent discovery.”

 

HighGold Mining Inc. (TSXV:HIGH) has reported additional assay results from the 15,000-meter ongoing diamond drill program at its flagship Johnson Tract Gold Project in Alaska. HighGold President and CEO Darwin Green said:

 

"Resource expansion drilling at the main JT Deposit continues to deliver solid results of high-grade mineralization in these step-outs. We are equally pleased with the emergence of a significant thick zone of copper-silver rich mineralization in the footwall to the JT Deposit, in drilling done to follow up on last years late season discovery. With only 6 holes reported so far for the 2020 Program initial results reveal promising developments at each of the priority target areas, including at the earlier stage Northeast Offset target. Three drills continue to test these targets in addition to surface crews advancing our regional exploration prospects."
