Buenaventura
(NYSE:BVN) has sent a request to the Peruvian minister for
mines and energy (MINEM) for the temporary suspension of mining and ore
processing activities at its Uchucchacua mine to give the company an
opportunity to improve the mine’s efficiency and profitability. In particular,
this would include a “focus on
its underground exploration strategy, optimizing the current reserve
exploitation sequence with a gradual operations re-start.”
IAMGOLD
Corporation (NYSE:IAG) has reported its preliminary operating results for
the third quarter of 2021. The company’s President and CEO, Gordon Stothart,
said:
"We achieved
attributable production of 153,000 ounces during the third quarter and are
pleased that our total attributable production is trending towards the upper
end of the guidance range. Essakane continues to deliver strong results and
Rosebel is performing in line with the updated plan. Production at Westwood was
lower than plan, although underground mine productivity is improving while we
continue to prioritize implementing safety measures as part of the business
recovery plan. The teams continue to respond and adapt successfully to the
challenges we experienced in the first half of the year."
Avino
Silver & Gold Mines Ltd. (NYSEAmerican:ASM) has announced results from its Avino Mine property
near Durango, Mexico for the third quarter of 2021. This includes production of
285,464 silver equivalent ounces, comprising 77,935 ounces of silver, 1,183
ounces of gold, and 685,535 pounds of copper. David Wolfin, President and CEO
of Avino, said:
"We are very
pleased to announce our third quarter production results which followed a
period of operational closure. The entire Avino team worked tremendously hard
to assist in the resumption of operations in August, and successfully achieve
production for the quarter. Moving forward, we aim to steadily increase
production to reach the levels established prior to the closure. I am also
thrilled that training programs are ongoing at the mine as we look to further
build a local workforce."
LaSalle
Exploration Corp. (TSXV:LSX) has announced assay results for seven holes
drilled from the maiden drill program on the 100 percent-owned Radisson
Property in the Eeyou Istchee - James Bay Territory, Québec, Canada. The
company’s President and CEO, Ian Campbell, said:

Considering that we started by prospecting isolated showings in June and have
