Kinross Gold Corporation (NYSE:KGC) has entered into a definitive agreement with Great
Bear Resources Ltd. (TSXV:GBR) to acquire all of the issued and
outstanding shares of the latter through a plan of arrangement. This will see
Kinross acquire Great Bear’s flagship Dixie project in the Red Lake mining
district of Ontario, Canada. J. Paul Rollinson, Kinross’ President and CEO,
commented:
“The
Dixie project represents an exciting opportunity to develop a potentially top
tier deposit into a large, long-life mine complex. In addition to the prospect
of developing a quality, high-grade open pit mine, we also believe that a
significant portion of the asset’s value is its longer-term potential, which
includes the view of a sizeable underground operation.”
Aurion Resources Ltd. (TSXV:AU) has reported results from the ongoing exploration
program on its joint venture (JV) in the Central Lapland Greenstone Belt in
northern Finland with B2Gold Corp. (NYSEAmerican:BTG). Aurion’s CEO Matti Talikka
said:
"The
Helmi discovery is already showing the potential to be a significant gold
occurrence. The nine holes drilled in the program were the first ever drilled
in this area. The holes were broadly spaced, up to 350 m apart, and were
drilled without reference to surface exposure or meaningful base-of-till
sampling. Given the scant evidence available, we consider the success rate of
this program to be exceptional." "Recent discoveries in the region,
such as Rupert Resource's nearby 3.95 Moz Ikkari, have yielded a high return on
capital invested. We're excited to have the opportunity to retain 30% interest
in the JV."
SSR Mining Inc. (NasdaqGS:SSRM) has shared results from 288 drillholes (275
reverse circulation and 13 core drillholes) completed at the Marigold mine in
Nevada, USA. Rod Antal, the company’s President and CEO, said:
"These
exploration results highlight the potential to add incremental oxide
mineralization to Marigold's already robust reserve life. By focusing on adding
ounces proximal to existing infrastructure at New Millennium, we are
demonstrating opportunities to build on Marigold's near and medium-term future,
while also continuing to systematically explore the larger property for
longer-term targets. We are working to expand and accelerate our exploration
efforts at Marigold as a precursor to completing an updated Marigold District
Master Plan technical report later in 2022."
Pantera Silver Corp. (TSXV:PNTR) has received a drill permit from the Mexican
Government for its Nuevo Taxco Silver Project in the state of Guerrero, Mexico.

concludes a rigorous process that required the attention and hard work of many
individuals working under challenging Covid protocols. The end result was the
completion of a comprehensive Manifiesto de Impacto Ambiental ("MIA")

drilling on select targets and we will be mobilizing the drill rig to site
immediately. We will provide the market with a further update upon commencement
