Coeur Mining, Inc. (NYSE:CDE) has entered into an agreement to acquire 11,067,714 (17.8 percent) of the outstanding undiluted common shares of Victoria Gold Corp. (TSX:VGCX) from Orion Co-VI Ltd. Mitchell J. Krebs, Coeur’s President and CEO, said:

 

"We have long admired the quality of Victoria’s Eagle asset and its recent success in ramping up operations. This compelling opportunity to acquire 17.8% ownership interest in Victoria from Orion is consistent with our stated strategy and capital allocation framework, and complements our existing portfolio of precious metals assets in high-quality jurisdictions in North America. We are excited to become a shareholder of Victoria, and believe this transaction represents an attractive investment for our stockholders."

 

Endeavour Silver Corp. (NYSE:EXK) has reported its financial results for Q1 2021, ended March 31. This covers the company’s three silver-gold mines in Mexico: the Guanacevi mine in Durango state, the Bolanitos mine in Guanajuato state and the El Compas mine in Zacatecas state. Highlights include the production of 1,039,710 ounces of silver, an increase of 22 percent over Q1 2020,  and 10,894 ounces of gold, which is an increase of 31 percent over Q1 2020. Endeavour posted earnings of $12.2 million, which is an improvement over the loss of $15.9 million in Q1 2020.

 

Vanstar Mining Resources Inc. (TSXV:VSR) has announced that its joint venture partner IAMGOLD Corporation (NYSE:IAG) has secured a drill rig to complete a drill program on the Nelligan joint venture project in Quebec, Canada. According to the press release, the drilling “is expected to begin in the month of June and the plan is to drill 9,000-10,000 m and will include both definition drilling in the main resource area as well as step-out drilling with a focus on the west extension of the known mineralization.”

 

Spanish Mountain Gold Ltd. (TSXV:SPA) has reported positive results from a Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) for its 100 percent-owned Spanish Mountain gold project in central British Columbia, Canada. PFS highlights indicate Proven & Probable Mineral Reserves of 2.3 million ounces (Moz) of gold and 2.2 Moz of silver. The company’s CEO, Larry Yao, explained:

 

"Against the backdrop of a large and growing resource, the PFS once again affirms our Project's potential as a gold mine with robust production and profitability. The PFS has also identified several tangible targets for project optimization. Our technical team has already started investigating these opportunities with the objective of incorporating any potential benefits in a definitive feasibility study.”
