Barrick Gold Corporation (NYSE:GOLD) has reported on its 2022 gold reserve growth. The
company, according to the press release, “grew attributable proven and probable
gold mineral reserves by 6.7 million ounces net of depletion in 2022.”
Barrick’s President and CEO, Mark Bristow, said:
“While
we continue to evaluate all new opportunities against our strategic filters, we
have always believed that finding our ounces is better than buying them, and
this year’s resource and reserve statement showcases the unmatched potential of
our organic growth pipeline.”
ArcelorMittal (NYSE:MT) has announced its results for the three-month and
twelve-month periods ended December 31, 2022. Highlights include a FY 2022
operating income of $10.3 billion, as well as the generation of $6.4 billion in
free cash flow for the year. Aditya Mittal, the company’s CEO, said:
“Despite
the challenges that emerged as the year unfolded, our full year results
demonstrate the benefits of our strengthened asset portfolio and the
improvements we have made to our cost base in recent periods. This, alongside
the mitigatory actions we took in the second half of the year to adapt
production levels and optimize energy consumption, has added resilience to our
business.”
Royal Road Minerals
Limited (TSXV:RYR) has entered into a Strategic Alliance Agreement
and a Non-Binding Letter of Intent with investment holding company MSB Holdings
Limited pertaining to copper, gold and other metals exploration in the Kingdom
of Saudi Arabia (KSA). This will see Royal Road and MSB form an alliance “aimed
at developing an exploration decision-support-system, leading to the
development of priority targets and an initial 12-month work program and budget
for exploration operations in the "Arabian Shield" area of the KSA.”
Tim Coughlin, Royal Road's President and CEO, explained:
"The
Arabian Shield is one of the most prospective and underexplored regions in the
world, with outstanding potential for world-class copper and gold resources.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an impressively proactive and supportive
host-country which, through its Vision 2030 initiative, is actively promoting
responsible mining and mining investment and is committed to sustainably
developing its mineral resources and playing a key role in the supply of
critical metals.”
Kuya Silver Corporation (CSE:KUYA) has announced an agreement with Minera Perú Sol
S.A.C. to process mineralized material from the Bethania Project in Peru. David
Stein, Kuya Silver's President and CEO, said:
"This
toll milling agreement will allow Kuya to begin processing material from the
Bethania Project to produce silver-lead and zinc concentrates in 2023, similar
to how the mine has operated in the recent past. We are delighted to have this
option available to start ramping up production when we are ready, which
greatly increases our flexibility as we look to restart the Bethania mine. The
knowledge gained from this initial processing step should be useful in reducing
operational risks as we look to develop our own plant at site."
