Mining Stock Alert: SilverCrest (TSX: SVL) (NYSE MKT: SVLC) Announces Commencement of Mill Commissioning At Santa Elena

Vancouver, British Columbia - May 5, 2014 (Investorideas.com Mining Stocks Newswire) SilverCrest Mines Inc. (TSX:SVL) ( NYSE MKT: SVLC) is pleased to announce a major milestone for the Company with the commissioning of the new 3,000 tpd CCD-MC processing plant now underway at its 100% owned Santa Elena Mine in Sonora, Mexico. The scheduled three year Expansion Plan to transition from an open pit heap leach operation to a conventional mill and underground mine is nearing completion. The US$99 million program including drilling, Pre-Feasibility Study, detailed engineering, new processing plant, and underground development is on budget (+/-5%) and has experienced only modest delays from the original schedule. Construction involved approximately 450 workers at its peak with a total of more than 1.5 million man-hours worked. Please click here www.silvercrestmines.tv/ to view the new ball mill in operation. For additional information and to view photos and videos of the mill, the processing plant and the mine site, please visit the Company’s website at www.silvercrestmines.com.

N. Eric Fier, President and COO stated, “The mill start-up is a significant milestone in the successful development of Santa Elena and the responsible growth created by the "phased approach" business plan of the Company. This major achievement is a testament to the hard-working teams at Santa Elena and SilverCrest as we continue to make the transition from a junior to a mid-tier precious metal producer. The new processing facility and underground mine will significantly increase our silver and gold production in 2014 and beyond.”
Commissioning Phase
The commissioning phase for the processing facility, which is expected to span approximately three months, will gradually increase throughput parameters from approximately 500 tpd until the design capacity of 3,000 tpd is reached. The commissioning phase is planned to test all aspects of the facility and remediate any issues that may arise. Mill feed during the commissioning period will initially come from the leach pad reserve with blending of higher grade underground ore to start in late Q2 2014. Underground development ore is being progressively stockpiled (currently 4.7k tonnes grading 1.3 gpt Au and 81 gpt Ag) in anticipation of processing during the commissioning period.
During the three month commissioning phase, metal production from the heap leach operation will continue at a reduced rate.
Underground Update
Underground development continues on an accelerated schedule to access underground ore for mill feed. Development work is progressing at an average rate of 10 metres per day with more than 2,800 metres completed. The decline ramp has reached the 570 metre level (surface at 780m) and five lateral levels have accessed underground reserves in preparation of stope production. Underground production equipment (Company-owned and operated) is expected to arrive on site later this quarter with immediate accelerated production from already developed stopes.

Switzerland's Role in the Gold Market

May 1, 2014 (Investorideas.com Mining stocks newswire) When one thinks of Switzerland, banking comes to mind easily but gold doesn't as much. After all, the relationship between Switzerland and gold is more ancient than the one with paper bank deposits. Certain bankers from Geneva, such as Lombard Odier and Pictet, started in 1800 and have more than 200 years of history. Back then, paper money didn't exist yet and deposits consisted mainly of gold and silver. Today, still, a full two-thirds of the world's gold goes through Switzerland and, in an average year, it refines grossly 70% of the world's gold. Six of the gold refiners on the LBMA Good Delivery list make for 90% of global volume, and four of those are in Switzerland. Up until 1992, the Swiss franc's 40% backing by gold was written in the country's Constitution. When Switzerland became a member of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) it had to abandon this backing by gold. Today, Swiss citizens have asked for a referendum to be called in order to get back to that backing.
Investorides.com Newswire Gold is, along with silver, the oldest money in the world, hence its unbreakable relation with the banking system. Gold is also the most liquid and transportable wealth protection in time and space. In case of war or revolution, it is hard to flea with one's property or other valuable assets as can be done with gold. In 1685, when the Nantes Edict was revoked by Louis XIV, Protestants were definitely denied their religious rights. This led most of the Huguenots to flea to the European Protestant countries, such as Switzerland.
We all know about Switzerland's banking secrecy, but a little less about its origins. One might think that it originates in a text of law, like in other banking centers. But banking secrecy is profoundly buried in the Swiss mentality. One can always revoke a law, but it is very hard to change one's state of mind or tradition. When you ask a question of a Swiss, you have to follow up with ten more questions in order to get a complete response. He will answer bit by bit. If you ask the same question of an Italian, he will tell you about his whole life. Having lived in Switzerland, this is how I can best describe Switzerland's banking secrecy. Swiss people are discreet by nature. They don't need laws... laws only reinforce what is de facto.
« It is not the federal banking laws' article 47 that defines the notion of banking secrecy in Switzerland, but common law; banking secrecy thus falls under the general dispositions of the code of contractual obligations, as well as under articles 27 and 28 of the civil code, which put into law the principle of identity protection. » (1) « Penalties for breaking this principle are covered by the federal banking laws' article 47, constituting a disposition of administrative penal law. »(2) The civil code protects every personal right worth protecting and, notably, private life secrecy. The Swiss federal Court estimates that, « the inviolability of private life does not only constitute a moral principle, but is also a civil right, a « judicial asset »; it is an attribute of personality, and the law protects it. »(3) And privacy in the economic sphere is also protected.
« What sane man would not put away some money in swiss banks? Switzerland is the vault of the world », Félix Houphouët-Boigny, former President of the Ivory Coast.
For a long time Switzerland has been building infrastructures to safeguard financial assets such as gold. Its political stability, its neutrality, its defense system based on a militia army, and the Alps, that serve as a natural fortress, make Switzerland the ideal safe vault for gold. In addition, we can add to that ultra-qualified personnel, more dedicated to excellence than to volume.
During the crisis of the London Gold Pool in the ‘70s, Zurich has even come close to becoming the main gold trading hub, at the expense of London. The Bank for International Settlements (BIS), the central banks' banker, is still based in Basel. Almost all of central banks' gold trades are effected by the BIS in the utmost discretion. The headquarters of the World Gold Council was in Zurich, before moving to London recently. Geneva, where the most important jewelry auctions take place, has also been the global center for jewelry and watchmaking for many years.

The sound management of public finances has the effect of the Swiss franc mimicking the price of gold closely. Recently, in order to protect its exporting businesses, Switzerland decided to peg the Swiss franc to the euro, thus diminishing its attraction as an anti-inflation currency (in favor of gold). Even though Swiss banking secrecy is no longer backed as much by the authorities and the large banks, it still remains strong in the mentality of the Swiss people. True, the Americanization of the Swiss banking system since the ‘80s has weakened banking secrecy and the role of gold in fortune management. However, having talked with Swiss wealth managers, I see that this is starting to change and that, without admitting it publicly, they include more and more gold in their clients' portfolios. In the last ten years, several companies specialising in gold storage for businesses and individuals, outside the banking system, have appeared.
The Swiss have a reputation for excellence in gold refining. That has let Switzerland become the hub of gold refining, with nearly 70% of the world's gold transiting through the country. Mining companies and gold recyclers export to Switzerland, where the gold is purified to the highest levels (.9999 or even .99999). It is then exported in the whole world to jewellers, investors or central banks.
The best precious metals storage and safekeeping companies are also based in Switzerland.
Other countries are trying to compete with Switzerland, but they still have a long way to go, especially since Switzerland is not sleeping on its laurels. Two of those countries are City-States like Dubai and Singapore. Singapore is a stable haven in Asia, as is Dubai in the Middle East, but they haven't reached Switzerland's level yet. Dubai is trying to develop an expertise in refining and trading gold, whereas Singapore, already with an excellent infrastructure for wealth management, is developing its capacity for gold storage and, also, a gold trading market for Asia.
We live in uncertain times, and no one is safe from unforeseen events. In the actual context, it seems to me that Switzerland is the best place to store gold. However good the infrastructures may be, one must never lose sight of the financial health of the country in which one wants to store gold. A fiscal or financial paradise that has gone into debt loses its independence and will not hesitate to use legal means to confiscate assets and, thus, gold, that are on its territory, as we've seen with Cyprus recently. The United States and the European Union have already adjusted their legislation for possible confiscation. Even Switzerland was taking the wrong road with its public finances in the ‘90s but, thanks to direct democracy, a positive radical change has taken place. This is a positive element for Switzerland, even though I remain vigilant. The only caveat I have is that the large Swiss banks, because of high exposure to derivatives and being very present in the United States, have lost a little of their financial stability and, consequently, a little of their independence.

TSX Mining Stock Alert: GARIBALDI (TSX.V: GGI) INTERCEPTS 10.4 G/T AU OVER 8.5 METERS NEARSURFACE IN FIRST-EVER DIAMOND DRILLING AT LA PATILLA

Vancouver, British Columbia - April 25, 2014 (Investorideas.com Mining stocks newswire) Garibaldi Resources Corp. (TSX.V: GGI) (the "Company" or "Garibaldi") is pleased to provide a progress update on its exploration activities in Mexico. Of particular note, first-ever diamond drilling at the La Patilla Gold Property in Sinaloa State has returned highly encouraging gold values near-surface including an interval grading 10.4 g/t Au over 8.5 meters in LP-14. First pass metallurgical testing is now under way in advance of a planned follow-up Phase 2 drill program as Garibaldi systematically moves this project forward.

La Patilla Highlights:
  • LP-14 intersected 10.4 g/t Au over 8.5 meters within a wider 30-meter interval grading 3.1 g/t Au;
  • Five of six holes drilled to test the La Patilla vein system intersected broad zones of mineralization along 75 meters of strike length to depths of approximately 50 meters;
  • Mineralization remains open in all directions, including at depth, and consists of gold bearing quartz veins and breccia bodies in an epithermal, low-sulphidation system.
Regional Highlights:

  • Garibaldi starts drilling test hole at Rodadero high-grade silver target in northern Sonora State;
  • First-ever drill program at Iris, adjacent to two operating mines in Chihuahua State, is scheduled to commence after completion of drilling at Rodadero.
  • Steve Regoci, President and CEO of Garibaldi, commented: "This initial shallow drilling at La Patilla, where artisanal miners have been operating for decades, is an exceptional start for us. Our next step, which we have already commenced, is a preliminary test program for recovery using cyanide to determine the amenability of the mineralization to possible heap leaching. We look forward to the next round of drilling at La Patilla which will test a potential source at depth for the near-surface mineralization we've confirmed in the vein system. Secondary structures/zones will be investigated further as well. Regionally, through the same cost-effective approach that gave us success with the Temoris option, we're now at an exciting new stage of exploration not only at La Patilla but with developments in Sonora at Tonichi and initial drilling at both Rodadero and Iris."
Shallow Drilling Highlights - La Patilla Vein System
Reported widths are believed to closely approximate true width.
Investorideas.com Newswire All intervals were calculated using a 0.2 g/t gold cutoff. Up to 8.5 meters of contiguous samples below cutoff have been included in the larger intercepts in LP-14 and LP-03.
The presence of mineralization in the wallrocks of the La Patilla vein system could be favorable for a bulk mining open-pit scenario with a relatively low strip ratio.
Results from two shallow exploratory holes adjacent to the La Patilla vein system suggest these areas warrant follow-up work. Hole LP-13 (the Jose vein) returned 5.8 g/t Au over 2.5 meters and 2.1 g/t Au over 1.5 meters from different near-surface depths. Meanwhile, hole LP-04 (collared 75 meters east of LP-14) - cut two zones in a stockwork system, 0.4 g/t Au over 10.5 meters and 0.5 g/t over 10.7 meters.
Results from the second main target, the Murcielago breccia located to the northeast of the La Patilla vein system, were partly inconclusive due to poor recoveries and the fact that the most important holes to test under the high-grade mineralization in the underground workings were not completed to the target depths because of difficult drilling conditions (the most significant intersection from seven holes was 18.6 meters grading 0.60 g/t Au in LP-01). The prospective Murcielago area will be followed up through reverse circulation drilling.
An updated map for the La Patilla Gold Property, including locations for all 15 holes totaling 1,245 meters, can be found on the Company's web site at www.GaribaldiResources.com.
    Rodadero & Iris Projects
Garibaldi is using its company-owned drill rig for a test hole, currently in progress, at the Rodadero Property in Sonora State. Aided by its hyperspectral remote sensing technology, Garibaldi is now focusing on a 6,500-hectare area at Rodadero with high-grade silver targets and the potential for an epithermal gold system. This property has never previously been drilled.
Meanwhile, Garibaldi is preparing to drill a series of first-ever holes at the Iris Project strategically located in the heart of a robust mining and exploration camp in Chihuahua State. Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. and Carlos Slim's Minera Frisco have operating mines immediately adjacent to Iris.
    Tonichi Project - Locust Target
Garibaldi continues to advance its Locust Cu-Au porphyry target that forms part of its Tonichi Project in Sonora State. Based on local zonation patterns in the context of classic porphyry models grading outward from a core, attention is now focused on an area just over half a kilometer north of the three most recently completed holes, MAR-13-03, MAR-13-02 and MAR13-01. To date, Garibaldi has completed 3,000 meters of diamond drilling in 17 widely-spaced holes at Locust. A series of breccia bodies have been outlined along an east-west trending shear zone coincident with a broad envelope of gold and copper mineralization mapped over a 5 km trend and 1-2 km across.
MAR-13-03 was designed to test the geological continuity of the hypogene zone intersected in MAR-13-02. MAR-13-03 reached 254 meters, intercepting strong potassic, sericitic and propylitic alteration with narrow zones of anomalous copper and gold mineralization. The wide intercepts of anomalous to low grade copper-gold mineralization and porphyry style alteration/mineralization in holes MAR-13-03 & MAR-13-02 are located 800 meters west of MAR-13-01 and over 2 km west of the original Locust target, providing a significant step-out to the area tested.
    Quality Assurance & Control
Garibaldi maintains strict QA-QC protocols for all aspects of its exploration programs that include the systematic insertion of blanks and standards into each sample batch. ALS Chemex and Acme Labs (now part of the Bureau Veritis group that includes BSI Inspectorate) performed assay analyses reported in this release. All samples were assayed using the respective laboratories' certified and industry standard assay techniques for gold and multi-element packages and for over-limits. Au was analyzed by 30 or 50 gram fire assay with an atomic absorption finish, and other elements were analyzed by multi-element ICP.

For additional information and to view photos and videos, please visit the Company’s website at www.silvercrestmines.com.

    Production Highlights of Q1, 2014 vs. Q1, 2013;
    • Silver production of 201,101 ounces; a 31% increase.
    • Gold production of 7,545 ounces; a 4% increase.
    • Silver equivalent (1) production of 653,801 ounces; a 17% increase.
    • Waste to ore ratio of 0.94 was consistent with the mine plan; a 78% decrease.
    • Ore Tonnes crushed decreased 21% to 200,982 tonnes with throughput averaging 2,233 tpd .
    • Average grades loaded on pad increased from 62.1gpt to 86.8 gpt (40%) for silver and from 1.54 to 1.79 gpt (16%) for gold.
    N. Eric Fier, President and COO stated ; “During the first three months of 2014, Santa Elena experienced lower ore and waste tonnes mined from the open pit as it approached the end of its mine life. However, metal production exceeded corporate guidance projections for the quarter. The Company continues to focus on the completion stages of the Santa Elena Expansion Plan which should significantly increase our annual precious metal production starting in mid-2014. The recently announced pit closure at Santa Elena may have some impact on Q2 production but SilverCrest maintains the previously announced 2014 corporate production guidance of 3.3 to 3.6 million ounces AgEq (60:1). ”
Investorideas.com Newswire (1) Silver equivalent ("AgEq") ounces consist of the number of ounces of silver production/sold plus the number of ounces of gold production/sold multiplied by 60:1 gold price to silver price ratio, as determined in the 2014 budget, prior to Q1 2014, the AgEq ratio was based on the spot gold price to the spot silver price at the quarter end dates for financial reporting. All numbers are rounded.
First quarter of 2014 metal production was down 12% and 18% for silver and gold, respectively, compared to Q4, 2013. The decrease in silver and gold production was related to reduced ore tonnes mined and crushed in Q1 2014, which was somewhat offset by higher gold and silver grades. Open pit mining and crushing activities were reduced in Q1 and ultimately discontinued on April 04, 2014. No further ore will be loaded on the leach pad with ongoing stockpiling of high grade underground ore for milling. Silver and gold production will continue from the pad until at least August 2014.
SilverCrest is now focusing on the accelerated development of the underground mine at Santa Elena with 2,480 metres of the main ramp driven to date (570m level), which will provide access to high grade mill feed starting in Q2 2014. Initially, the mill will process leach pad ore only and underground ore will be stockpiled. In late Q2, blending of leach pad and underground ore should begin with testing of optimal mix ratios in H2, 2014.
    First Quarter Financial Results Release:
The Company plans to issue its first quarter financial results on Thursday, May 15, 2014.

Mining Stock Alert: SilverCrest (TSX: SVL) (NYSE MKT: SVLC) Updates Santa Elena Mine Expansion Plan

Vancouver, British Columbia - April 7, 2014 (Investorideas.com Mining Stocks Newswire) SilverCrest Mines Inc. (TSX:SVL) ( NYSE MKT: SVLC) is pleased to provide an update on activities for the expansion of the Santa Elena Mine in Sonora, Mexico. The Santa Elena Mine expansion is on budget (+/-5%) with initial start up of the new 3000 tpd operation anticipated later this month. The most significant activities are outlined below. For additional information and to view photos and videos, please visit the Company's website at www.silvercrestmines.com.

    N. Eric Fier, President and COO stated; "We are pleased with the final stages of the Santa Elena Expansion Plan which will significantly increase our precious metal production starting in mid-2014. Previous delay in delivery of the ball mill has pushed back our original Q1 start up to early Q2 while remaining on budget. The start up of the mill this month will be a major milestone for SilverCrest. The Company continues to grow as a low cost junior operator transitioning into a successful mid-tier precious metal producer. As part of a revised start up schedule we have elected to discontinue open pit operations and accelerate underground operations. These operational changes may have some impact on Q2 production but no change to the previously announced 2014 corporate production guidance of 3.3 to 3.6 million ounces AgEq (60:1)."
    Santa Elena Expansion Plan
    • New CCD/Merrill Crowe processing plant is 96% complete with final electrical and piping work being completed and tested over the next two weeks.
    • 80% of the major equipment has been tested and passed for initial start up. The remaining 20% will be tested during start up.
    • FLSmidth, the primary equipment supplier, has representatives on site supervising final work in anticipation of mill commissioning over the next 3 months.
    • Ore feed during the mill commissioning period will come from a blend of high grade underground ore and the upper part of the leach pad which represents the last 6 months of high grade open pit production that has only received partial leaching.
    • As planned with mill start up, no further ore will be loaded on the leach pad but gold and silver production will continue at a diminishing rate from the pad until at least August, 2014.
    • As part of the previously announced transition to underground mining, open pit operations have ceased as of April 4, 2014 which is approximately 3 months ahead of original schedule. Operational constraints presented by the mine contractor amongst other factors have triggered this early cessation of pit operations. Remaining open pit reserves are readily accessible from the 700m and 675m underground planned levels and the Company is scheduling retrieval of these reserves at a later date. Total reserves are unaffected by cessation of the pit operations.

Underground mining and development has been accelerated providing access to high grade ore feed to the mill over the next 3 months to replace ore that was expected from planned open pit production. From May through July (mill commissioning period), underground ore feed to the mill will come from increased ore development at a rate of 20,000 to 25,000 tonnes per month (previously 5,000 tpm). Underground ore will be blended with leach pad ore to achieve nameplate mill capacity of 3,000 tpd by July 2014. Key underground personnel are in place to execute the accelerated underground operations.
    • Underground equipment for owner operated production is expected to arrive on site in early May and initial production stoping is scheduled for late June or early July 2014.
    • Decline access work continues with approximately 2,400 metres of the main ramp driven to date (570m level). The 575m level is planned for 1st stope production.
Despite the operational changes in mine schedule of early pit closure and accelerated underground operations, the Company maintains previously announced 2014 corporate production guidance of 3.3 to 3.6 million ounces AgEq (60:1) will be unchanged.

Investorideas.com Newswire Fourth Quarter ended December 31, 2013
During the fourth quarter, the Company recorded a one-time non-cash deferred tax accounting adjustment of $5.8 million as a result of the enactment of the Mexican Tax Reform. The Company has taken the position that the 7.5% mining royalty is an income tax in accordance with IFRS for financial reporting purpose, as it is based on a measure of revenue less certain specified costs. On substantial enactment, a taxable temporary difference arises, as property, plant and equipment and exploration and evaluation assets have book basis but no tax basis for purposes of the royalty. The Company has recognized a deferred tax liability of $5.8 million as at December 31, 2013 in respect of this royalty. This deferred tax liability will be drawn down to $nil as a reduction to tax expense over the life of mine as the Santa Elena Mine and its related assets are depleted or depreciated.
Net loss was $4,094,410 ($0.04 per share basic) for the fourth quarter compared with net earnings of $13,616,028 ($0.14 per share basic) in 2012. The net loss in the fourth quarter was primarily attributed to lower revenue resulting from significantly lower realized prices and the non‐cash deferred tax accounting adjustment of $5.8 million as a result of the recently enacted Mexican Tax Reform.
Silver and gold revenue totaled $12,866,617, (2012 - $18,243,732) in the fourth quarter. Silver sales were a quarterly record of 208,200 ounces including capitalized underground ounces (2012 - 171,714), 21% higher than the same period in 2012. The foregoing, combined with a 37% lower average realized price at $20 (2012 - $32) per ounce, resulted in 23% less silver revenue. Total gold sales were 8,220 ounces includes capitalized underground ounces (2012 - 8,444) or 3% below 2012. The Company sold 6,576 (2012 - 6,755) ounces of gold at an average realized price of $1,250 (2012 - $1,706) per ounce. The foregoing, 27% decline in realized price, combined with a decline in the ounces of gold sold, resulted in 29% less gold revenue. The Company delivered 1,644 gold ounces (2012 - 1,689) under the Sandstorm Purchase Agreement at $350 per ounce.
Cost of sales amounted to $5,185,211 (2012 - $5,156,489). Cash cost per silver equivalent ounce sold amounted to $7.68, Ag:Au 61.6:1 (2012 - $8.05, Ag:Au 55.6:1). The decrease in cash cost per silver equivalent ounce sold is driven generally by lower mining contractor costs related to a reduction in waste removal. As the Santa Elena Open Pit nears the end of its life, the strip ratio dropped to 1.63:1 in the fourth quarter compared to 3.07:1 for the same period in 2012.
General and administrative expenses increased by 37% to $2,885,989 (2012 - $2,208,355) primarily due to an increase in remuneration and other corporate expenses. Remuneration increased by 37% to $1,581,482 (2012 - $1,158,076) with the addition of new corporate personnel in Q1, 2013, and higher bonuses paid in December to management and employees. Tradeshows and travel increased by 184% to $331,601 (2012 - $116,768) due to an increase in trade show attendance and an accelerated investor relations program. Mexico corporate expenses increased by 47% to $259,488 (2012 - $176,440), with additional tax, legal and corporate activity.
Current income tax expense amounted to $1,580,000, compared to a recovery of $3,494,000 in 2012. For fiscal 2012, the $23.2 million Hedging Facility cash settlement was deductible for Mexican income taxes. Deferred tax expense amounted to $5,420,000 (2012 - $781,000), primarily attributed to a non‐cash accounting adjustment in relation to the Mexican Tax Reform. On December 11, 2013, the Mexican government enacted a tax reform to introduce a mining royalty effective January 2014.
    Year ended December 31, 2013
Net earnings were $8,479,263 ($0.08 per share basic) for the year ended December 31, 2013, compared with $30,475,744 ($0.33 per share basic) in 2012. The decrease in net earnings was primarily driven by a decrease in revenue resulting from lower realized prices and lower gold sales combined with higher tax expense recorded compared with 2012 (attributed to the eligible deduction for income tax purposes in 2012 of the Hedging Facility cash settlement and the non‐cash accounting adjustment in 2013 of $5.8 million in relation to the Mexican Tax Reform).
    Silver and gold revenue totaled $54,893,651 (2012 - $70,520,085) for fiscal 2013, which includes $53,354,062 (2012 - $63,456,934) received on a cash basis.
SilverCrest sold 751,633 ounces of silver including capitalized underground ounces (2012 - 588,312), 28% higher compared to fiscal 2012. The foregoing, combined with a 27% lower average realized price at $23 (2012 - $32) per ounce, resulted in 7% less silver revenue for the year. SilverCrest sold 30,487 ounces of gold including capitalized underground ounces (2012 - 34,834), 12% lower than fiscal 2012. From this total, the Company sold 24,389 (2012 - 21,383) ounces of gold at an average realized price of $1,392 (2012 - $1,703) per ounce. The foregoing, 18% decline in realized price resulted in 7% less gold revenue than in 2012. The Company delivered 6,097 gold ounces (2012 - 6,967) to Sandstorm at $350 per ounce, and, as the MBL Hedge Facility was settled in 2012, there were no gold deliveries (2012 - 6,484) at $926.50 per ounce.
Cost of sales amounted to $19,895,374 (2012 - $18,307,681). Cash cost per silver equivalent ounce sold amounted to $7.78, Ag:Au 60.5:1 (2012 - $7.39, (Ag:Au 54.3:1), 2013 corporate market guidance estimate was $8.50 per silver equivalent ounce, (Ag:Au 55:1). The increase in 2013 cash cost per silver equivalent ounce sold was driven by higher mining contractor costs, higher processing expenses, and greater general administrative costs from annual salary and benefit increases for mine site personnel.
All-in sustaining cash cost per silver equivalent ounce sold was $13.05, Ag:Au 60.5:1. Company guidance for 2013 was $13.45 per silver equivalent ounce sold.
Current income tax expense amounted to $5,450,000 (2012 - $4,156,000), which relates to the estimate of annual tax payable from Santa Elena operations. The Company has paid a total of $4.7 million related to 2013 income taxes, $3.1 million by offset of Mexican value added taxes receivable, and $1.6 million by offset of 2012 income taxes refund. Deferred tax expense amounted to $7,418,000 (2012 - $1,261,000), primarily attributed to a non ‐ cash accounting adjustment of $5.8 million in relation to the Mexican Tax Reform and recognizing an income tax deduction on 2013 Santa Elena exploration drilling and related costs, which were capitalized for book purposes.
Exchange loss on translation to United States dollars amounted to $1,989,460 (versus an exchange gain of $561,523 in 2012), due to the significant weakening of the Canadian dollar against the United States dollar during fiscal 2013. The financial results of the Company’s Canadian operations were translated at US$1.00 = CAD$0.9949 at December 31, 2012, and US$1.00 = CAD$1.0636 at December 31, 2013.
    OUTLOOK FOR 2014
    Santa Elena Targets

TSX Mining News: GARIBALDI (TSX.V:GGI) BROADENS MINERALIZED CORRIDOR AT GRIZZLY, PREPARES TO ACCELERATE 2014 EXPLORATION PLANS

Vancouver, British Columbia - March 14, 2014 (Investorideas.com Mining stocks newswire) Garibaldi Resources Corp. (TSX.V: GGI; OTC: GGIFF; Frankfurt: RQM) (the "Company" or "Garibaldi") is pleased to report that recent reconnaissance work carried out over western portions of its Grizzly Property in the Sheslay Valley, northwest British Columbia, has identified a new zone of porphyry copper mineralization 3 km south of its Grizzly West porphyry target and 3 km west-southwest of Prosper Gold Corp.'s Pyrrhotite Creek prospect in an area referred to as West Kaketsa. Garibaldi is the largest landholder among juniors in the Sheslay district and controls approximately 26,200 hectares in claims. The results of this program suggests potential to significantly broaden a NW/SE trending corridor of porphyry targets that extends for over 30 km through the Sheslay Valley from the western end of the Grizzly Property through Grizzly Central to the recently announced Grizzly East expansion claims.

Given highly encouraging results in the western and central parts of the Grizzly Property, Garibaldi is accelerating its 2014 plans at the Grizzly by launching an aggressive Phase 1 exploration program to include detailed mapping, geochemistry, IP surveys and drilling. The initial stages of this work will commence in the next few weeks and the results will determine the scale of a planned Phase 2 program. Garibaldi is in a strong working capital position and is looking forward to advancing the Grizzly Project concurrently with its assets in Mexico.
"The importance of the discoveries recently announced by Prosper Gold and Doubleview Capital Corp., located approximately 10 km apart on properties within the Sheslay corridor, is the scale of mineralization over such wide distances. Confirmation of another significant porphyry target area several km south of Grizzly West underscores the world class potential of this growing mineralized Cu-Au porphyry corridor in the Sheslay Valley," explained Steve Regoci, Garibaldi President and CEO. "Garibaldi has captured more than 50% of this very prospective corridor with multiple targets already identified from Grizzly West to Grizzly Central through geophysical and geochemical surveys. We're very excited about advancing the Grizzly to a first-ever drilling stage."
West Kaketsa Mineralization Similar To Grizzly West, Pyrrhotite Creek
The extent of the newly discovered mineralized area at West Kaketsa is yet to be determined but it's located approximately 1 km north of the historic West Kaketsa prospect (B.C. Minfile # 104J-024) and appears to be related to a fault that extends at least 3 km to Pyrrhotite Creek on the eastern flank of Mount Kaketsa. Garibaldi's upcoming program at the Grizzly Property includes plans to further define this new zone with IP surveys and identify potential drill targets.
Petrographic analysis of mineralization from both the West Kaketsa and Grizzly West prospects has confirmed that both areas exhibit classic porphyry-style copper-gold mineralization including hydraulic brecciation, disseminated chalcopyrite and intense alteration within a hydrothermal environment. Garibaldi's reconnaissance work identified the new mineralized zone while following up on an encouraging airborne magnetic and radiometric survey completed last fall over western portions of the Grizzly Property.
The airborne survey confirmed that West Kaketsa, like Grizzly West, is in a region of strong magnetic activity and structure, the latter indicating faults and fractures in the intrusive bodies favorable for mineralizing fluids along the contact zones of the Mount Kaketsa monzonite granodiorite stock. Historic technical reports describe porphyry mineralization at West Kaketsa as being similar to mineralization observed at Pyrrhotite Creek. Prosper Gold has reported that Pyrrhotite Creek is a large mineralized zone with multiple porphyry targets located 3 km southwest of the Star porphyries in the SW corner of its Sheslay Property adjoining the Grizzly.
    Grizzly West
Last fall's airborne survey shows that Grizzly West is on the periphery of a large magnetic anomaly, in a similar setting to targets on the adjoining Sheslay Property. A soil geochemical survey has defined several strong copper anomalies open in multiple directions at Grizzly West with the grid covering an area approximately 1.5 km x 1.5 km. Fieldwork at this target has confirmed historical reports (Corona Resources) of mineralization with reported grades ranging from 0.20% Cu to 6.7% Cu in rock chip samples.

SilverCrest Mines Inc. (TSX: SVL; NYSE MKT: SVLC)
is a Canadian precious metals producer headquartered in Vancouver, BC. SilverCrest’s flagship property is the 100%-owned Santa Elena Mine, located 150 km northeast of Hermosillo, near Banamichi in the State of Sonora, México. The mine is a high-grade, epithermal silver and gold producer, with an estimated life of mine of 8 years and cash costs of $11 per ounce of silver equivalent (55:1 Ag:Au) for the open pit heap leach and underground mine. SilverCrest anticipates that the new 3,000 tonnes per day conventional mill facility at the Santa Elena Mine should recover an average annual rate of 1.5 million ounces of silver and 32,800 ounces of gold over the current reserve. Major expansion and construction of the 3,000 tonnes per day conventional mill facility is nearing completion and is expected to significantly increase metals production at the Santa Elena Mine (open pit and underground) in 2014 and beyond. Exploration programs continue to make new discoveries at Santa Elena and also have rapidly advanced the definition of a large polymetallic deposit at the La Joya property in Durango State with stated resources nearing 200 million ounces of Ag equivalent.
